what kind of monitors

sup, im in the process of building a studio for recording rap, and right now im focused on monitors....im looking for something in the lower price range (i dont mind buying it off ebay), but something that still sounds good. I heard the alesis monitores where pretty good, and i see a lot of people using the M1's...is that the way to go? also i was looking at the m-Audio StudioPro 4 Amplified Monitors, but i cannot belive those are that great based on how cheap they are (around 150 for a pair)...any suggestions?
 
Can come one point this guy to the longest thread on here about monitors. :)
 
About the only thing in that price range that I'd put on the "must hear" list is the Wharfedale Diamond 8.2 Actives.

Deepwater can probably help you with those (no, I don't work for Deepwater. I just know that several have ordered them through him and seem pretty happy about it).

IMHO, YMMV, yada, yada, yada...
