What Kind Of Fender Jazz Bass Is This?

I know it's American and from 1997.

....62 reissue....with all the hardware in place....
 
The high school that I went to and played Jazz Band in had one of those. I thought that it sounded Terrible. The worst part of the rig was the weight. Damn that thing was heavy!!!

That's wht I thought too, but the '62 reissue seems to have only 2 knobs.

I woulsn't be surprised if it was an 80's Squire with old strings that needed a set-up. I love jazz basses.
 
Fender Custom Shop..."time machine" Jazz Bass.....its the only other one that they put the covers on and has a dot neck.Makes sense cause that is an 'old school' color....
 
I think cavedog is right. As having been a Fender player in the late 60`s, I had a tobacco sunburst model with the tortoise pickguard released in late 63 for the 64 line-up, although it had dark rosewood fretboard instead of the light one. The Time machine is a copy of that bass.
