What I've been up to lately... (Metal)

With a little imagination I can hear the full 'real' versions in my head.
Some parts are a little cheesy, maybe try mixing it up rhythmically - break the 4/4 occasionally, tempo changes.

I've used similar programs to map out a song, sometimes it works. Sometimes - and I think these songs fit into this category; it feels a little TOO planned and mechanical, leaving no room for improvisation, spontaneity, and a bit of human 'swing'.

Look forward to seeing where you take these.
 
you did that all on guitar pro!?!?! I've tried to do some stuff on there.

I have to say I'm really impressed.

I'm pretty proficient on guitar, (I'm very into Yngwie Malmsteen) But I've tried using guitar pro before... Lost me quickly -

I'm no good with technology I guess - That's why I'm here =)

did you strictly use notation to do this?

Really like em both, particularly the second one. The start of the first one reminds me of the Exorcist. Or is it Phantasm? Eh some old horror movie hehe.

I like the way it starts out as a mutation of tubular bells.
It's an experience to hear these sounds again.
The composition is quite good - I want to hear it when it's real.

I got three of what i feel the best tunesi have ever written on the go and am totally stuck on some transitions. And im not sacrificing the good stuff for a shit transition.

It's more painful then blue balls IMHO
 
You could get some sampled guitar+bass+drums library (Ministry of rock by Eastwest is quite good IMO though their products are ment for soundtrack stuff I guess) but I'm not sure if using midi and daw for what you are doing would be too hard. Guitar pro is made for guitar players so it might be more intuitive. If you are anyway going to play them with real instruments later, I guess the midi sounds will work well enough for the purpose.

I liked the second song more.
 
Obviously, being midi, it lacks the powerful punch that a metal track should have, but the idea's good. So now....let'er rip! :D
