What is wrong with my microphone?

Hey everyone, I mainly registered to this forum because lately I've been experiencing annoying problems with my microphone quality.

I recorded the noise that bugs me whenever I turn on my mic. It is not a background noise or anything. It's also new to me. When I used my mic excessively for the last time (4 months ago), everything was fine.
The headset I'm using is this ednet. one.

I added the links to my signature. The vocaroo one is the sound that bugs me. The other one is the picture.

Any ideas?

I have no idea why my signature doesn't show up... I can't post links before I make 5 posts :/
EDIT: Oh, there it goes. I had to check the "Show your signature" box first.
 
Yuck! Not sure what that is but it sounds like more of a connection or converter issue.
 
Might try a different one then. Would have never thought about that...
