When bands play live on TV or in a concert the lead guitarist has a clear tube on a mic stand adn he pouts his mouth on it when he solos. Any one know what that is?

Basically a small audio speaker is enclosed, into a metal box air tight with a hole in the top for the tube to come out. The guitar is plugged into an amp and the speaker is routed through the box. The signal is then sent back from the box to the amp. The sound from the guitar is routed through the box and up the tube to your mouth so you can manipulate it. The sounds of the guitar basically replaces the human voice box.

Peter Frampton, Joe Walsh. Naw, they ain't that expensive, but they don't just plug into your effect chain. They have to be wired into the amp (sortof).
