i have a very simple set up, mic plug into mixer, mixer going in sound card line in. If i don't say anything in the mic then it'll be totally silence, but when i starts getting sound into the mic (any sort of sound) the hissing come along with the sound, where does this problem belong to? I have a cheap mixer with Shure PG58, and I have a cheap chaintech AV710 sound card.

could be a number of reasons.
are you using a compressor in the signal chain ?
what type of mixer ?
please detail your signal chain.
i would dump the sound card. sounds like you have a chaintech motherboard with on board sound ? if so get a better sound card and dont use on board sound.
search under my name for lots of tips.

when you mentioned "cheap" mixer and soundcard, that should have been your first clue. you didn't list the brand of your mixer, but if it's got crappy preamps, you'll get a crappy sound

Hi, sounds like one or more of your channel gains are up too high.

I'll admit I'm confused. Sure, the unidentified components are "cheap", but the hiss should be constant unless there's a noise gate somewhere in the signal chain. I don't know what software is being used, but I'll bet somebody pushed a button or clicked on a window that said "gate" or "noise gate". That will get rid of noise until the threshold of the gate is reached (that is, when you talk into the mic). Unfortunately, the gate is not the cause of the hiss, it's just trying unsuccessfully to hide it. Also unfortunately, cheap mics, cheap mixers, and cheap soundcards make noise. I think you are finding out why recording costs money- lots of it.-Richie
