ok, heres the deal. I've got a soundblaster live card, I'm using magix audio studio, (also have cakewalk 8). Say, I record the guitar track to my line-in and then record the vocals to the mic through the line-in (also have art mic-pre-amp and nanoverb)..I create a wave file and it sounds great. I convert it to mp3 @ 128kps it sounds great, I upload it to mp3.com and they create their lo/fi version, (28kps??) or a real audio file is created 16kps and the vocals sound 'warped' but the guitar is fine, I recorded my playing the acoustic guitar and doing the vocals through the mic and the whole recording on lo/fi sounded 'warped', you can see what I'm talking about @ http://www.mp3.com/raycarroll
or http://www.mp3.com/tammyandray (this has an example of the lofi only having the vocals distorted but everything else is fine)
if anyone knows what i need to fix or what is causing this I would be extremely grateful! Thanks

Can't answer your question Ray, but I just want to tell you that your tune was awesome- The guitar playing was some of the tastiest I've ever heard on the Net. Have anymore MP3s anywhere on the Internet?

thanks for the compliment, i really apreciate it. I've got ton's of songs that I've written and I've been working on my demo whenever I get the chance, most of the stuff I have @ http://www.mp3.com/raycarroll are some rough recordings, but I hope to get a pretty decent demo soon. I try to add a new song about once I week to my site.

...oh by the way, I think I finally found the answer to my own question, I ended up having to run all my instruments (guitar + amp, drum machine, etc..) through the line in and I run the vocals through my preamp (+ effects units) through the mic input, for some reason vocals digitized does not transform well into lo-fi and that is normally what most people listen to first to get a preview of your tunes.
