This is my current setup:
2.4ghz pentium 4 processor
1GB Ram
80GB maxtor, 120GBSeagate SATA
M-audioDelta 1010LT
Soundcraft Spirit FX16 desk
shure sm57, AkgD112, 3 Sennheiser e604s, 2 Studio Electronics SE1 condensers
V-amp Pro
Cubase SX 1.0

i think thats everything i need to mention. i can get a nice sound on drums, bass, and guitar now i have the v-amp. vocals through the mixer dont cut it 4me tho. they seem dull and need a fair amount of eq to sound nice with the sm57. i personally think a nice vocal mic and a decent preamp/compressor maybe is the next step forward. what do you guys think?

You will probable want a LCD mic. You budget really matters here, but there are some great price points all around. I have heard for about $200 that the C1 by studio projects is excellent and I KNOW that the T3 for about $500 by studio projects is awesome (I have it).

Monitors...? Most important part - Didn't see them...

OK, I think you're asking for opinions so I'll opine... ;)

I would ditch that V-Amp and get something real to record. I think you'd be happy with the Randall MTS system and its modules, I use their RM80 combo amp with Mesa / Fender / Randall Ultra Hi gain modules for different flavors that are real. I've used and recorded those V-Amps, great for scratch tracks and nothing more.

Of course, in my opinion.

Monitors, yup...John is right. Got any?

PS: Hey, my 711th post! My lucky number.

haha shit yeh of course.
wharfedale pro dimaond 8.2a's. very nice!
the reason i went for the v-amp is because my situation does not suit an amplifier (neighbors etc)

Nice LDC and preamp combo.

Dunno.....
Acoustic treatment?

you can record drums but not a real guitar amp? maybe u should get a nice tube pre such as the GT Brick to go with new LDC mic.

I would say a decent pre and a decent vocal mic. As for what, though, that's not quite so easy. :)

yeh i was thinkin a nice mic and pre for vocals would be the way to go... what is an LCD mic? ive never come across one, anyone got any threads/links i can read up on this type of mic? cheers!keep the opinions coming on what i should get next! cheers guys.

LDC - Large Diaphragm Condenser. Run some searches on this forum and you'll find more than you ever wanted to know :)
