What Is The Most User-friendly...

If you do a search under my name you'll find out that I offer most people solid advice. But not arrogant little twits like you. You have already made up your mind that Reason is 'too preprogrammed' or 'too prepackaged' probably on the basis of a cracked copy you used. There are red flags all over your posts that you didn't come here to learn anything.

You need to open your mind, especially when you come to a forum like this where you can expose yourself and your lack of knowledge to a group of people who donate their time and expertise to fill in the gaps for you.

Alright alright - I apologize.
Though please understand my frustration. It's not the programs. I just need help getting the signals INTO my computer, INTO the program. I am certain each and every sequencing/recording program has it's own perks, some better than others. But regardless one still needs to get the audio signals INTO the comp. HOW? Please pardon my earlier venting. You happened to be an easy target.

i think CEP is the most user friendly just cuz its so fuckign easy to use and learn

You are right in saying that each program has it's perks, but IMHO the software that comes free with most audio/midi interfaces is no more than an elaborate demo to get you hooked on a particular program.

This is what I use to get audio and midi info into my computer. This one and this one are good too. Do not buy an interface without midi capability because even if you don't know much about midi right now it will come in very handy in the future.

And I appreciate your apology, and feel I owe you the same.

well no sh_t - I have the same tascam us-122
so where is the missing link? I must have some settings screwed up because I still can't figure out how to get my external audio into the computer, into my Reason 2.0 or into Cubase SX - I guess I'm a Midiot (and no, I know midi doesn't send audio signals, just for now I i'm just using a 1/4" plug to go from an old 4 track recorder into which i have some sound components plugged - but I have the suspicion that i need the LINE OUT RCA jacks on the tascam to go into my computer somehow
could you send me a pic of your setup?
thanks

The USB cable that came with your US-122 (if you bought it new) or that can be bought at Radio Shack or any computer store (if you bought it used) is the missing link. There is a hookup that's marked for the usb cable at the top right of the US-122, and the other end of the cable goes into the little slot-like USB port on your computer. Then put the installation CD in the drive and run the installation program.
