What is the best way to hook up the Alesis HD24 to a daw?

Not sure how I would do that? Can I record on the HD24 and pass the signal using the HD24 ADAT out to the DAW ADAT in?

yes. you dont even have to record on the hd24. just plug in your analog inputs to the back of the hd24. record enable whatever tracks you plugged in to. record enable the new track in cubase. select whatever input the signal would be coming in on. dont forget to set your sound cards clock to external digital in. the analog inputs on the hd24 will be mirrored in the digital outs. make sure input monitoring is enabled too.

I'll try it...thanks

I was trying to avoid recording on the PC. The HD24 is absolutely stable.

then the only way is to put the edited tracks back on to the hd24. this is very easy and very quick using the fireport. you may want to look into it. it is 40 x faster than the ethernet..

i know what you mean about avoiding recording on the pc.
