stonepiano said:ahhh gabriel! you have asked a very good question.
knowing full well that there can be no definitive answer to a question of opinion, I've heard the Neumann U87 is a well respected readily available vocal studio mic.

I see... sorry Gab. I get it now.
DigitMus said:FYI "It depends" means it depends on way too many variables to give a meaningful answer. For instance :
Best for what type of voice?
Best for what type of music?
Best compared to what?
What medium will it be recorded to?
What electronics chain will it be recorded through? (i.e. what mic preamps, EQs compressores, A/D converters, etc.)
What does the room sound like that it will be used in?
What do YOU (and your clients, if any) consider to be the "best" vocal sound?
What is the purpose of these recordings? (Major releases, small independent releases, artist's demo, songwriting demo, archiving performances, etc. etc.)

what you think about:
Neuman - TLM-103 or AKG - C414 B-TLII or AKG - SOLIDTUBE ??

No, No and possibly.
I sold my 103 when the C1 came out. The C1 blows it away, IMO. The 414 is my favorite workhorse mic in the studio, but not for vocals – unless you have a very rough, gravel-like voice.
Best vox mic in the $1K range, IMO, is the Soundelux U195. It's also a stunning mic on acoustic guitar.
I know the availability in Portugal may be limited and the prices may be higher. My next favorite vocal mic under the U195 is the Studio Projects C1 or C3.
