What is the best mic for vocals?

I am new to recording vocals, mostly becuase I have spent hours and hours tryin to figure out my MIDI instruments and my digi studios (Logic Audio, Pro tools LE). I am about to purchase a Motu 896, which has 8 mic pre amps, and also a Mic for vocals. Which are the best in your opinions, and does it have to do with the type of music I write?
 
There is no answer to this question DJ. A lot depends on your voice, your pocketbook, and your other equipment.

You might want to hang around the microphone forum for awhile. The threads there should help you narrow down your quest.
 
I just looked around there, and figured that out, I was simply trying to broaden my view on which ones were best to some, while being the worst to others. I have decided to stick with the original brand I bought for live performance, Shure, I figure if its good live, then it should be unique for my studio recordings.
