Do you want it to sound awesome or do you want to record in digital? No really, we will need more info to be able to help you make a nice studio. Example, do you want outboard gear or plugins? Mac or PC? ETC ETC

Also, what are you planning on recording? Vocals, instruments, what kind of instruments, how many at once, etc.? There are soooo many options to choose from.

And welcome...:D

I'd go with his idea^^ lol. But realistically speaking, I work with a st59 sterling audio Microphone, and it is quiet nice sounding, for the price, I'd say its worth it. As they said on mixer wise we would need to know if your wanting to plug in or go digital with it. I prefer a mixer board rather than digital only being because I find the skill of mixing fun. If you want to get technical with the vocals, get your self a Vocal Compressor, I use a Platinum Trackmaster Pro. It to, puts off a great sound. You will need some kind of sound proof, being pillows, egg cartons, think sheets (theater curtains/drapes are best), or even getting into some construction being drywall, fiberglass. Depending on the Amount you are willing to spend will depend on the sound you will get, experience falls into place with that as well. My rig is currently worth about 1700$ usd, I'm also not an audio engineer, my tracks are not amazing, but everybody starts somewhere. A list is a good thing to make, and just remember mixer/mic wise, guitar center has a 14 day return policy, so take advantage and try some equipment out before settling with it.

i do wish to sound quite good ... i will be rapping/singing

i will not be using any instrumants at all

could someone lead me to the best mic i could get best filter best condenser best mixer and the best software.. please i would like to record at home to drop my first mixtape

also what would be better to use a mac or pc i can use either

Best equipment for home recording...

A Tascam 424 portastudio from ebay and Sure sm57 mics. Get some cables for the mics. Get some cassette tapes and also preferably a cassette deck to mixdown to, unless you want to run the mix into your computer to record (Audacity is a free program that works fine). That's all I'd recommend.

First on your list should be a lesson in English. Punctuation is always appreciated.
Second on your list should be a lesson in using "Google" or the "search" function on this board.

Why is that "clearly?" We don't know you. Maybe you do have thousands of pounds. But anything you said after that makes absolutely no sense. Sorry. I can't help you there.

So you want to sound professional but you want to be spoonfed the answers on what you "need." Those two don't really work together. And BTW your best voice has nothing to do with gear.

So you will be doing A Cappella rap? Interesting.

could someone lead me to the best mic i could get best filter best condenser best mixer and the best software..
What kind of filter are you talking about? You want a mic or a condensor? Or do you want a condensor mic? What kind of software are you talking about? Why do you need a mixer? You aren't using instruments. Have you done any research on your own?

please i would like to record at home to drop my first mixtape

Your first mixtape huh? Do you have any dope beats? Do you have mad flow? Last I checked neither Macs nor PC's could put anything on Tape. So I dunno. Sorry.

You should probably not mix from cassette to cassette unless you want significant generation loss. But at this point in the thread it doesn't matter.

Yeah, that'd be my idea of a good digilog studio.

Damn!

Some of you guys are ruthless! Can you guys insulting this guy even read? See how the forum says NEWBIES?!! This guy is clearly just starting out and I`m guessing from another country and getting the words tapes and tracks mixed up. By no instruments I`m sure he wants to work with Loops and plug-ins...So either help him out or go flex your 3-inchers elsewhere! Hey man just start out with pretty much any DAW program, a condenser mic with a pop filter, an Interface and some studio moniters. I use a Presonus Audiobox for the interface ...pretty cheap and has phantom power. Adobe Audition for my DAW...pricey but it does it all. Like the 1 guy said Audacity is free maybe check that out. Good luck:D
