I have a computer with an emu 0404 card and I use a small behringer mixer with only two xlr imputs.
I hate it. the cubasis is very confusing and with all the hookup cables from the mixer to the computer, I have been experiencing a cutting in and out effect due to bad connections.

I am seriously thinking of going to an all in one unit, or should I get a better/different soundcard and a better mixer? I want to be able to record drums, guitar, bass at the same time.

I want the setup to be as simple as possible.

Oh, and I don't need effects as I will be using a gt-8 for the guitar, but I have no Idea how to sharpen vocals.

Well, you could get the Digi002 Rack and get an 8ch. ADAT (M-Audio Octane 8-Channel) for it. That would be a total of 16 Channels. I imagine that would be enough. It would probably total to about $1900. Pro Tools LE is pretty simple to use as well.

...for an excellent studio-in-a-box, look into the Akai DPS24... by far the best-sounding unit out there... and most versatile...
