At the beginning of "Lose yourself", by Eminem, there's two instruments two instruments playing. One's a piano. The other is some kind of synth. Whats the name for that synth sound, and is there a free vsti that can make that same sound or something similar I can download?

Oh, and if you've never heard Lose Yourself, The same type of sound plays at the begginning of " Round Here" by the Counting Crows. It's like a background strings thing...or something.

The back ground in the Counting Crows song is an accordian if I am not mistaken.

Do a look over at www.kvraudio.com and search for accordian vst's.

accordian? I know they have on "Long December", but I don't think we're thinking of the same thing.

This is at the begginning of "Round Here" this majestic hish pitched sound goes for a few measures, and then the guitar comes in with that little D-A-G riff.

Oh, that!

That's a Radio Shack synthesizer (impossible to find nowadays) through a VST effect called 'Metallurgy'!

I love that sound!

Sound like a badly f*cked up recording of an organ to me.
