Basically its a mono cable with a phone jack at the (TS = Tip Sleeve). Stereo cables with 1/4" Phone Jack is a TRS (Tip, Ring, Sleeve).Bigsnake00 said:

There are other cables that can also be TS or TRS.

A TRS cable isn't really a "Stereo" cable. It can be used for stereo, but it can also be used for a balanced connection. Basically it's a TRS cable

I don't disagree with you. What did I say that was incorrect? I understand the concept of the balanced cable. Tip (positive - left), Ring (Negative - right), Sleeve (Ground) which is used in a stereo connection. Oh! I see, you are saying that TRS is not only a stereo connection, but can also be used for a balanced connection. Yes, thank you! I didn't mean to confuse anyone by my statement. However, technically (even if you do record mono) the signal running through the TRS (balanced cable) will be a stereo signal (meaning one signal on the Tip & one on the Ring - even if it's the same signal).
Anyway, short answer is yes. I concur and fully agree with you because you are correct.
