i was looking at fruity loops today and it seems pretty cool and the price is doable i think it was 149 at samash. has anyone seen it for less or has any other ideas on some good wave editing software that wont cost a months wages?

try what i use - powertracks. extensive wave editing and effects built in
plus you can record 48 multitracks plus midi sequencing built in.
demo is at pgmusic.com. 29 bucks. i think its the bargain.

Audacity is free and works on all platforms ( PC, Mac, Linux )

N-Track Studio is only $40-60. (Great sequencer.)

Magix is less than $100 and Cakewalk Home Studio just over $100.

It all depends on what works for YOU... they'll all do the job.

(and by the way, there is a $99 version of Fruity, too.... the Producer version is $150 while the Studio is $99.)

Cool Edit Pro is an awesome program also. A bit more expensive, but a phenomenal program. Adobe recently bought it and the newer versions are called Adobe Audition.
