What if I use 2 soundcards?

I was wondering what would happen if, say, I had a LynxOne and Delta card in the same system. Using Lynx as the main in/out, and use delta whenever I need to bus something to an external effects, then back in thru Lynx's ins.

I'm asking because LynxOne is only got 2 outs, which eliminates me from tweaking the outboard FX while hearing the whole mix. Will there be latency problem? Conflicts?

Thanks in advance

A1A2, I haven't personally tried this exactly,
but I do myself have a delta 44 and a Creative Vibra in my PC.
I have fiddled a little, but gave up pretty soon because of conflicts. Huge latency problems, static in the sound etc.

But I do know that 2 delta interface's work beautifully together...
Hope that helps

If you are simultaneously recording from both cards, it will not work. There would be no way to sync the clocks on each card together and they would drift apart.

yeah, since delta doesn't have a clock input, I guess it's impossible to sync it with anything.

thanks for confirming this issue.

if you delta has spdif...you can slave to the lynx using that ...

I have two basic sound blaster cards, and when I record at the same time I have no problems.

less you have 2 drives but that's a shot in the dark... from my end, that is...
