i want to record some jamsession that i make at home with some friends, but i dont know how .....
my question is: what i need to make a good record (not professional)??
my pc is p3 700 and soundblaster live...
im looking for something cheep.....

thankz.....

What do you already have ??
If your gonna use your PC as the recorder, you can use your SB but the performance is certainly not pro. Maybe get a mixer and a handfull of mics and of course the software to record on. Plenty of trial versions and demos to get you started.

tkz
but it would be more easier if i use an analog. recorder?

by analog do you mean a reel to reel or a portastudio? (I'm guessing you mean portastudio) I used to use a portastudio, and I think recording on the PC is much easier (I use a 4in soundcard into cool edit pro).

what`s the diference between an reel to reel and a portastudio?

how much inputs my sound card are able to record?
just one?!?
how i can expand this number to 4 channels?

A PortaStudio is a small-format multtrack recorder combined with a mixer in a single unit.

Reel-to-reel recorders are 2-channel or multitrack recording devices only -- no mixer or any other signal routing capabilities are included.

but, what is more easier and cheeper?
i want to record
guitar, bass, drum and vocal....
how much channels do i need?

You need to get a handle on the basics before you can decide what kind of equipment you might need.....

Then go here ---> http://www.studiocovers.com/articles1.htm

Then come back and you can get answers to more specific questions.....

There's no way anyone can answer "how do I start recording...?" -- the answer could span several books!
