It has Strat tones to me-like one of those in-between tones on a 5 way switch and maybe a bridge humbucker possibly-good chance it could be the Ibanez-

What effects or StompBoxes ?
btw, i saw this song on DVD and the guy was playing LesPaul, but i saw many more videos of this song and every single one they had a different guitar, in one of them they had that Big Jazz type of guitar, maybe it was that?

I think the guitar in the video is an Ibanez, but almost any electric guitar could give you that sound... except perhaps the archtop jazz guitars that you mention. The archtop is way too loud and too acoustic for this type of distortion to work.
