What External Hardrive Will work Mac&PC?

I took my new western digital hardrive to get wavs off a studio's G4 and the G4 did not read it???? Are there external hardrives that work for pc and mac? Is there another problem I'm not seeing? Any help would be appreciated.

did you try to put the HD directly inside the computer?

depending on the operating system version on the PC and MAC you should be able to get a USB external hard drive and copy your files....

Make sure your hard drive is formatted to fat 32. A g4 will not read an NTFS drive. i bought a cheap western digital usb 2.0 drive to transfer files from the studio at school, which is a mac, and my home computer which is a pc. Out of the box it worked. It has worked on every mac I tried at school, and every pc that runs windows xp.
