Hiya guys, I need some help and some tips.

I'm not an amateur when it comes to music but I am a little bit of a novice with the equipment. At the moment I have a Jamlab made by M-Audio which has been great for me but I have had it 5 years and it has seen it's day. I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction in buying new recording equipment, preferably USB. I looked at Behringer but this wasn't USB and you had to use the phones out on the mixer and the mic in on the computer and I just think USB is much easier. I looked at this one because it was only £40 but obviously a USB version would be a lot more. I am hoping to get something at £100 max if possible (%=$150)

Any help appreciated, cheers

tell us first what are you going to record? how many instruments/vocals you plan to record at once?

Well at the moment I am a 1 man band so at the moment I would only need to use 1 input at a time but if the price allowed for it, then I would like to have more inputs if I ever needed to get other people to play with me but at the moment 1 input would be ok for me. It would just be for guitar and keyboard. I have a microphone too but this is a USB mic so that plugs straight into my PC anyway and I generate a drum sound through a MIDI program and I would use keyboard for any drum sounds also. So the only intruments I would need to be able to record through are guitar and keyboard but only 1 at a time.

You're better off asking these questions in the newbie section.....
