What equipment do I need to record live?

I'm a noob, so please share your intelligence.

The type of setting I need to record has 2 guitarists that will be mic'd, a drummer that will only be mic'd with 2 mics, a bassist that will be mic'd, and a vocalist (only 1 mic, of course).

What equipment do I need to record this type of live setting? help a noob!
 
Will you have access to the sound desk at the gig? (as in the main desk that the live gig engineer will be using) or are you asking what equipment to buy to actually take all the microphone signals you have described and mix them live whilst recording them?

Also - do you prefer a computer/harddisk recorder, or does it not matter?
