What else i might need to start a small studio with protools Mbox 2?

Hello readers, im currently a collage student and since i dont know much about protools exept from the basics, i whant to start building a small "studio" or workplace in my bedroom for know so i can practice more and more using PT8 Premiere, AfterEffects and other Post production software. besides the soundproofing and good pc that i already have, i do have one question...

I was interested to buy Command 8 and i was wondering if it works with other software such as premiere... i dont want to stick only with PT so i can start learning editing and more other stuff...
Is it worth the rick buying such a hardware for practice?

Don't buy anything if you don't know what you need and why you need it. If you are asking strangers in a forum you're just going to end up wasting money on some expensive gear that you don't know how to use because "the pro's use it." Digi control surfaces usually do NOT work with other software.
