What does this button do?

I have a macky 1604 vlz pro and I'm trying to figure out how to make the direct out work. I tried to read the manual but it doesnt tell you how to use the damn thing.
Any thing will help.

There's nothing you really do. Just plug something into it. Is it a direct out or are you using the insert?

If I'm not mistaken, there are only direct outs on the first 8 channels if that means anything to you...

Just plug it in!

The faders and EQ section will have no effect on the output at the direct out jack.

Good question.
I'm sure its not the insert cause thats the channle's fx loop.

BINGO!!!
You know, I didnt check which channle I was plugged into and yeah you are right. The dirrect outs only do the first 8 channles.
The other thing the manual says is it takes TRS jacks.
