of the 805 series 10" snares by pacific? i fell in love with one at a jam night i went to, and im thinking about getting one. Also what heads would be good to use on a snare that small?

They're nice. I prefer the 10x5 Pearl Firecracker over it, but still a nice little snare. Pick one up, or a Firecracker for that matter, if you can get it for around $90 or less.

I was going to get one of those 805's but I ended up getting a 12" firecracker. My absolute favorite is the orange 14" pork pie cuz its loud, its deep, and when you tune it high it sounds amazing.

yeah i like that really cracky high-pitched snare that you hear in alot of grindcore. what would be a good combination for one?

I'd say something deep and maybe a hard shell like acrylic or steel... You want something with a lot of overtones.. that is mostly what I hear from grind bands..

this is the snare sound im looking for out of my 14" steel snare. With the 10" im looking to go REALLY high pitched and maybe a little ringier. any ideas for head combinations for the two?

I'm a big fan of Pearl's 12X7 snare, personally.

Not to revive an old topic, but I just bought an 805 6X10 snare on eBay. I had my old Tama Swingstar 8-lug snare tuned really tight and muted, but now I can tune that really fat and use the 805 as my tight side snare. Woot! I was going to get a Pearl 12X7 snare, but... didn't happen, for some reason (that reason being that the 805 snare is cheaper).

yeah i never bought one but im going to start building a kit soon, and a 10 x 5.5 side snare is on the list of pieces.
