It's shocking enough that you're getting a condenser mic! At least you should get the Sennheiser MKH 40. Not only would it demonstrate brand loyalty, but it will blow away the AT 4040 on almost everything. Is nothing sacred anymore???!!!

I wish! Hell I can't even afford the AT-4040 much less the MKH 40.

This is what I want for Christmas, not what I'm getting.

Probably get socks and underwear. I have a few things lined up for myself after the holidays. Right now, I'm buying for everyone else. I managed a used Midiverb III last week and that'll be it until after Christmas.
