Santa.....I'll just buy the studio stuff I need if you can take care of these other things:)

Thanks

Isn't it funny that you only have the stuff you can't buy when you can't afford to buy the things with which to use them?

btw, I have modestly asked for two SP VTB-1's...

Very true..... I'm not sure how "funny" it is :) .... but its deadon accurate. I've often said that I wished I had my present day equipment about 20 years ago.

Fortunately I don't have a tone or a ringing..... yet. A tone wouldnt' be all bad if it were in pitch and something that works in sharped keys. :) My luck.... it would be a perfect E flat.

my mom bought my christmas the other day!

i got a pod, eq, compresser and some pres!

GOD IT'S GOOD TO BE YOUNG!!!!!!

suckers,

zeke

(just kidding about the suckers thing.)

Mine is a G tone (about) high up....You'll get one too if you don't take care of your ears!

Have to write all my music where G fits now : (:..

It's not so bad....I just hear it when it's silent around...in bed. I fall to sleep with a G in my head....

...But Cyber Santa wiiiiilll take care of it, I've been nice and praying ;)

good point. perhaps funny isn't the best word. cruel, maybe?

Same thing with time and money. Whenever you got a hectic job, you don't have time to use the gear you can buy. Whenever you're unemployed, you got no dough to buy the gear. So far, I got plenty of time....

And I feel for you guys and the hearing loss. Didn't mean to make light of things. well, you guys have to admit though..you're both ringing endorsements for protecting your hearing....alright, got that out. :D

I know I'm going to hell

A whole bunch of whirled peas. (and maybe 1073 for a stocking stuffer)

So true! A mix between the both is best. maybe 70% time and 30% money.

The actual need is more like 100% (+) time and at least 30% money.

my wife is paying for a refret on my '66 strat...now that "retired" guitar will have a new lease on life.

itd be easier to say what i dont want...

Seeing as how this is a mic forum Ill start with those, especially considering I only have a grand total of (1) mic thus far...a behringer xm2000s  it works alright for some stuff tho.

1) 2 Shure 57's (or 58's)
2) 2 behringer ecm's
3) some AKG's
4) a wack of cables and stands
5) Any kind of PA system thatll beat my peavey rage.
6) m-audio sp5's...still dont know a helluva lot about these except theyre on sale at AXE music right now, and my current speakers suck
7) gina 24...again not solidly knowledgeable, but, again, its on sale.
8) cubase
9) some NICEEEEE cymbals fer the drums
10) my guitars nicely setupup, (ie action, intonation) everytime I do it I forget one wee detail that fubars everything, and currently trying to record with them is an excercise in madness.
11) A nice mackie mixer, cause I have a behringer, and it has noise, not that I can actually here it yet thru my soundblaster, or have anything to compare it with, but going on what Ive heard round these parts.
12) hmmm....some really nice wireless headphones, or wired.
13) Im praying to Santa actually that if we get new neighbors in the other side of the duplex (by dec 15), that I dont have to move again, because of the noise. And if they do like the noise, then I guess its ok for santa to bring me some nice materials to start building a good sound room.
14) a Roland VS 2480CD...cause its probably more than the whole list above, and probably would eliminate a lot of the above, for the time being.
15) A plane ticket to Australia.
16) WCB retraining for sound engineering.
17) A big stick to hit my drumer with whenever he ups the tempo past anything reckognizable.
18) A bass player. (preferably with his own bass)
19) The will to overcome certain addictions that havent done SWEET %$#^ ALL for me this far in life. (honestly I think this will happen, only to be replaced by the addiction to have to have MORE STUFF)
20) FREE SEX (with myself doesnt count)
21) Possibly some rich woman to writeoff my old dodge with her fancy new jaguar, providing me with more than enough cash to afford all of the above, with perhaps a bonus in the form of #20
22) getting approved credit so I can actually get a bunch of the stuff listed above, cause ya I hate to break it to ya Santa doesnt exist, Ive only just found out.

At any rate merry Xmas to all

New computer and a C1; already here. VTB-1 arriving today. I have the BEST wife in the world! Santa got nothin' on that girl.

Im getting a Delta 44, and another SM57. You can never have enough 57s! :)

A wave of song writing inspiration and genius.

(Enough damn equipment already...I need to spend more time putting it to use!)

Then again...a LDC with a pad switch, and a something other than a straight cardoid pattern would be nice. Maybe a Behringer B-2? S.P. C-1?

Having a little time off work between Xmas/NY will be nice for the hobby.

An acoustically treated room, an Earthworks or Avalon pre-amp, and an AT-4040 mic.

I don't think the room will fit down the chimmney. :D

...and an AT-4040 mic.

It's shocking enough that you're getting a condenser mic! At least you should get the Sennheiser MKH 40. Not only would it demonstrate brand loyalty, but it will blow away the AT 4040 on almost everything. Is nothing sacred anymore???!!!

Could always use more mics...actually, I probably need a better sound card. Something's definitely wrong if slaving via SPDIF to my LD player (you read that right: laserdisc player) gets me better sound. An Aardvark would really fit the bill...

I want my tendonitis to be gone.... Thats all I want for friggin' Xmas!!!!! *Crying*
