I've got a pretty simple question....hopefully one of ya'll or all of ya'll can give me some input.

I am planning on multitrack recording bands with a layla 24 and cool edit pro. However my comp. is as follows Pentium III with 640MB ram. Will this be fast enough with a lot of hard drive space??? There would only be 8 tracks recording at a time? What do you think? Should I upgrade?

I doubt you'll be able to handle 8 tracks at a time. Even if you can pull it off, you'll be hurting in mixing. Plus, you'll want a more powerful computer eventually, so just go ahead and get it and satisfy your urge.
