I would just like to get some opinions of this mix. I know the wacky conga break is a bit annoying so see if you ignore it.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Well now...that was interesting.....original & creative even! Can't say I've heard anything like that before....but I could hear where there would be a market for your sound. Especially enjoyed the vocals and the hooky phrases. One criticism though: the repetition from about 1:42 to 2:06 and the repetitive vocal thereafter from 2:06 to the end....with the interesting creativeness of the first minute 42 sec. it seemed to get a little boring with those long repetitive sections towards the end of the song. I did like the actual ending though....that was cool. The mix sounds just fine....although with the good vocals you have you might want to bring them up a little more. "Meshuggah" as an "influence".....is that the same Meshuggah from this bbs?
"heaviest light rock"....interesting.....how 'bout "leftfield pop"?:)

Hey
Fresh arrangment. I dug on the intro and exit. I would agree that the vocals could use a boost. Very desirable bass tone and lines. The vocals were also acceptional.
Overal solid mix and singular writting.

I'm digging it. Definitely hear the "Steeley Dan" influence.

Hey thanks for the comments, that song was actually pretty easy to mix, I sould have probably put another selection on there. Maybe one that I wansnt so sure about, w/ real drums, anyway.
I also agree w/ you on the repetative parts. They are too...repetative. That is a problem of mine, good idea starting off then losing focus by the end.
Finally: The Meshuggah I am influeced by? Only the MOST brutal and bionic of metal bands from Sweden. You should check them out (I suggest the album Desroy-Erase-Improve) if for no other reason than the production, they are the sound of the end of the world.
I sort of listed them as a joke, but they do kick a LOT of ass when and if you are in the mood for that kind of thing.
Cheers
