Track Rat Just Your Average Sized Member Mar 16, 2004 #2 Not a great mic though it does do a few jobs very well. I like it on snare and toms and sometimes it ain't bad in front of an amplifier. It doesn't fair vary well on acoustic stuff or as a drum overhead.

H Han New member Mar 16, 2004 #5 When the C1000 came on the market it was a reasonable mic. I agree with the posters on top of me, there are better mics these days for less money. Nevertheless, a very good engineer can make a grammy award winning record with a number of C1000's.
