what do you think about the recording?

hey folks,
i've recorded my first song ever last june and the feedback i've gotten was always: awesome. the problem is, these people don't really have a clue about recording, so i would like to hear some "real" raiting. I recorded my band in my room, where my drums are also located, with following equipment:
Anda.008 8-track soundcard
Yamaha MD-8 (used as a mic-preamp and per direct out in soundcard)
AKG D112 for bassdrum
4 Shure SM 57 for toms
2 AKG C 1000 for overheads and vocals
Behringer V-Amp guitar for, of course, guitar
DI box for bassguitar
and Nuendo for multitrack recording
I borrowed everything from a friend and i was kinda in a hurry, we've had only 3 days (1h drums a day) for 3 songs, because i still live at home (student, 17 years old). actually i'm pretty satisfied with the result, better than expected.
so if you could give some feedback, maybe some advice, would be great

Faulenz,
Let me start by saying that it's pretty good considering your age and the equipment you used, however there are a few things that could be better.

The bass sound is quite bad. It just doesn't sound like a bass should. It's very muffled, lacking definition and appropriate tone. My best description of it would be farty. The playing and bass itself may well be a lot of what is to blame as it sounds like there's string rattle everywhere. Also the bass line is way too busy and doesn't really fit in.

The V-Amp guitar sounds are awful and tend to overpower everything. Just try a better sound that fits into the mix.

The rest sounds ok and the early Michael Jackson style vocals were a surprise, in a good way.

your vocalist has potential, but you guys should really toss out this song. it is painfully bad.

these guys make it sound a lot worse than it really is.

It's pretty good. THe drummer sounds like he's speeding up sometimes and the guitars are off every once in a while... i'm used torecording shitty bands so maybe i'm being too lenient.

the kick sounds like it's lacking definition... you should work on that maybe.
