buy some rigid fibreglass and cover it yourself and save yourself a fortune

it'll sound better
 
uhhh..

yeah about the whole fiberglass thing..I already read all the posts about how safe it is and isnt...and im not willin to mess up my lungs(which have a lot to do with vocals) just to save some money..I know people still say its not too dangerous, but imma have my girl up in it doin vocals too and I dont wanna do anything that could at all harm her...yenno?

That's nonsense. It's not dangerous at all, and especially if you cover it.

But, whatever.
 
Fiberglass? Unsafe? It's not like it stays in your lungs like asbestous. People install fiberglass insulation all the time and are fine. Plus it's not like the rigid stuff is flaky like the stuff you put in walls for thermal insulation. That stuff creates a ton of dust when it's cut. The compressed fiberglass board like this hardly creates any dust when you cut it, and whatever dust is created can be easily filtered by a dust mask.
 
Be Careful!

If you are dealing with fiberglass, wear a dust mask. This is a must, I have a buddy who was constructing bass traps just a few months ago, and he was cutting up the stuff. He wasn't wearing a mask, took in fiberglass flakes in his lungs and he turned into a dragon. It is serious, he is still in the hospital.

No but really, Read this link about its safety .

Just wear a mask if/when cutting the stuff, otherwise you will be fine especially if its covered with fabric.

What do you think these panels are?

It's not like fiberglass has teeth and is going to eat your lungs.
