right now i own the Behringer GI 100 .... should i defintly upgrade that ... i only really use it for bass right now. i bought it cause it was only like 30 bucks and it was my first one

Are you happy with the behringer? If not, what don't you like? What do you plan to use it on, besides bass? How much do you want to spend?

Personally, I have 2 of the behringer boxes and they work just fine for my needs (mostly DI for recording bass and live acoustic/electric guitar). For bass, you could go with the bass sansamp or similar. The Radial box gets great press. If you're a high-roller, get the Avalon U5.

I would say get either the Radial, a BSS, or a Countryman. In my opinion they will all open your eyes up to what you have been missing with the Behringer. Not that the Behringer is unusable, but the boxes listed cost five times more so should sound better. Personally, i would go with the BSS or a radial box. All three sound great, but the Countrymans seem to fall apart easily and often. They are always easy to repair, but ever since I replaced a dozen Countryman's with a dozen BSS boxes my life has been easier. No more screwing with the screws:D

im willing to spend something like 110 and down ..... what have i "been missing" is there a really big difference between the behringer and all the other ones just mentioned? if so what are those differences

i've got a countryman and i think it does a wonderful job on guitar and bass.
before that i was using a VTB-1, and getting acceptable results with it......but the countryman is just *better* sounding.

it also seems to be built like a tank, but admittedly i haven't had it more than a few months--nor have i gigged with it, so........

cheers,
wade
