What desk to use for 16 track recording.

Currently I have an Alessis Studio 32, and I am thinking about upgrading (in quality more than inputs), and I was wondering what I should upgrade to.

I am using all 16 direct outs, and can see myself needing to record about 12 tracks simultaneously.

8 of my desk outs are currently going into my digi 001, and another 8 into a behringer ADA8000 AD/DA converter.

I hope you can help.

I've just bought a desk, so I'll make a new thread, as I'd like some opinions on it.
