Hey,

I am planning on buying a gaming computer. I like to do some recording and stuff. I use this computer for regular stuff like surfing the internet. It's actually a pretty good computer for office type stuff. I don't know if I should use it for recording or use my gaming computer (that I haven't ordered yet).

The gaming computer is going to have surround sound so I think it would be a pain to set everything up. I also would like to use the gaming computer strictly for gaming. But, if it would really help in recording, I would defiantly use it.

Any suggestions?

I guess it depends on how far you want to take your recordings or if you'd rather play games.

I use my gaming computer for recording. I just have 2 separate installs with different hardware enabled/disabled on each one. My computer has both an audigy for gaming and a delta 44 for recording. The recording install has the delta 44 enabled, with my monitors plugged into it, and the audigy and the network card disabled. The gaming install has the opposite, with 5.1 speakers and a sub plugged into the audigy.

Legion,
What exactly do you mean by 'installs'? Is an install the same as a user profile, or whatever Windows calls them?
Thanks,
-Rich
