This is kind of funny! Doesn't anyone remember:

Tape machines going down.

ADAT's going down.

DAT machines dying.

Various gremlins in analog studios that cause plenty of down time.

If computers are properly set up and maintained they should not cause more downtime than any other method. The key to avoiding down time with *any* studio technology is to keep it maintained.
