Alright I just took the plunge and got a new Mac G5.....Dual 2.3 GHz Processors, Dual 1 GHz frontside bus, 160 Gb drive, 10.4 OS/X Tiger, 1 Gb RAM expandable to 8 Gb.....I am runnning Pro tools 6.9 LE with a DIGI 002 R and was having some real problems with my PC (1.9 GHz Athlon with 512 Mb Ram) Even with my 300GB Maxtor external hard drive..........I also splurged and got the 23" cinema widescreen monitor.... $3500 at Frys

So I am just wondering what is everyone running for PC/MAC.....What are your good/bad experiences with either one....... :)

Yeah! Sweet setup!

I've got an old hand-me-down PC that my father in law gave me. No bells or whistles here, but it runs my UA Project Pak nicely.

I need more RAM though...

I'm running a PC but no problems here. I'm also running PTLE 6.9 with the Digi002.

P4 64bit 3.2 GHz
2GB DDR2 Ram
Win. XP
19" LCD

No complaints here :D

Currently running a DELL :(,
2.8 GHz P4 :)
512MB RAM :(
And currently recording to/playing back from the internal 7200rpm drive for home projects :( (got a Mac-format external drive for serious recording projects in the studios @ school)

...and PTLE 6.4 runs like crap on my system :(

AMD Athlon 3200+
ATI 9800 Radeon
1g ddr ram
120g hdd
80g hdd
21" Sony monitor
Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse

Machine works flawlessly for me.

2GHz Imac G5 with 1.5 MB Ram. I built it myself in my basement for under $1,000!

Homebuilt PC - AMD Athlon 2800+, 1 GB RAM, 120 + 80 HDD's, EMU 0404 card, solid as a rock.

Homebuilt PC - AMD Athlon 2000+, 1 GB RAM, 40 + 80 HDD's
Runs like a champ!!

Don, nice computer you have there! Probably the best upgrade you could do for it at some point is add more RAM.

I'm using a Mac dual 800 G4, OS 10.3.8. Runs great and is a great sequencing/audio machine.

IMHO it looks like the average studio fella has a much nicer setup than the average joe.......Nice work to those that have built your own

amd 3700+ 939 2.2ghz
asus k8v deluxe motherboard
2gig ddr 3200 RAM
nvidia 6600gt
two trinitron 22" viewable monitors
two 40 gig ATA HDs
one 80 SATA
emu 0404 audio card
ok so the case is an old gateway server. I had to mod it to fit the motherboard.
my wife was being really nice. then again I did upgrade her diamond ring and added an enhancer. That alone cost twice the pc I put together.
