I Love It!!!

It is in threads like these that people learn A LOT!

Actually, I'm tempted to mail Ed my RNC for a week (since I'm not really recording much lately) to have him compare it to his Behringer comp; I've been wanting to know how the Behr compares to the RNC too.

Aaaa... Not till he does that mic cable comparison first and sends my cables back... Before you know it, he'll have my entire studio.

"Mind you, the RNC is single-channel... "

Isn't it two channels with one set of knobs and controls?

The RNC isn't stereo? I am looking for a pretty good stereo compressor/expander/gate. I'd like to have it all included....saves me money and space. Any other ideas?

Yo, LTG

dobro and bvaleria just told you it is.

Also, you're not gonna find a stereo comp/gate other than the Alesis 3630 and dbx 266XL for under $300 and they aren't even close to the quality of the RNC.

Noise gate ?

What would be a good matching gate to use with the RNC, price and performance?
Thats it !

Can It Be Done?

A stereo gate with the same range as the RNC in cost and quality?

I like Aphex's gates but they're a bit expensive in comparison. I went to look at Presonus and they don't have just a stereo gate.

I did remember Presonus does have the ACP22 so that can be put on the list of stereo compressors/gates in the up to $300 range. I'd take that before a 3630 or 266XL but RNC still smokes my ACP8.

hey, does anyone have the RNC website address? can't find it anywhere!! thanks dudes.

I've got the dbx two channel compresser (166xl?). The only thing I have to compare against is the Alesis Nanocomp. The dbx is much more "transparent" (you don't hear any "pumping" kind of noises) like I did with the Alesis.

It can do two seperate channels (I usually run my cheap casio keyboard drums on one channel and my *whatever* through the other to get my song's foundation set). It also does stereo - hit a button and channel 1 controls both chanels.

I paid about $140 for it at GC. No complaints - I've had it for about 6 months.

difference between 240 and 120 v?

what's the difference between the 120 and 240 volt RNC compressors on the mercenary.com site?

You Knowww

The voltage coming-out of your wall... What is it? 120 or 240? Which ever it is, that's the one you get.

how do it check

this may sound dumb...but how do i know what the voltage commin' out of my wall is???

thanks

Isn't America/Canada 120V and everywhere else 240V? or something? I don't know, heh...

Well

Take a paperclip...

NO! NO!

What he said above...

BTW

What other products does fmr audio make ?. I can't remember anybody talking about another product from fmr audio. Surely they don't just make that one little great compressor.
Thats it !

If My Memory Serves Me Correctly...

Around $250? for or something like that.
