I have an 1010lt and I was just wonder what sample rate im suppose 2 record at. Its at 48 default. When I have sonar open and Windows media player playing something. Media player plays it speed up.

You can record at any sample rate/bit depth you like in Sonar.

But to play the finished product in MP or burn it to CD, you have to convert it back to 44.1/16

Well what are the advantages of recording at a hight rate. Do they outway staying at 44.1 rather then recording at a higher rate and converting.

before recording at a higher sample rate, consider recording at a higher bit depth. the higher bit depth the better the resolution of the sounds you will record. It also increases the dynamic range, lowers dither and the quantization errors, and just makes a cleaner overall sound.
