i just got started recording at home, and i just the other day plugged my mixer that i use live into the "in" spot on the back of my computer that is 1/8'' jack...is this a bad way to do it, and i just got a converter that converted that 1/8 jack to rca outs that go to the mixer. i used the channels on the mixer to record, and it sounds decent, but sometimes the acoustic guitars, when plugged straight in and not mic'd, sound a little thin, and when i try to equalize them out it distorts. if you guys could just tell me if i probably need to get a new sound card with rca's, or just a different one that would improve my sound a lot without spending a whole lot of money. thanks!
