Hi, I am here to ask your methods/setup of recording mixing and eq on certain things in the studio, I ask your opinion because i am about to purchase some new outboard gear and i think it would be useful to see what you guys think i need. (i am thinking a new preamp, and a sound exciter/maximizer) My biggest problems are geeting full powerful sound from the bass drum, and guitar amps. and vocals here and there
so if you want list your setup and methods.
whats your single chain for your bass drum
whats your signle chain for your guitar amps
etc...
thanks guys, interested in hearing what you have

I use an SM-57 into my Behringer UB802 mixer which runs into my Behringer FCA202 into Adobe Audition for guitar cabs. For drums, I use a Nady DM 40 and an SM-57 on the overhead and if I could get a splitter I would use a Nady Starpower somewhere else too. But aside from different mics, I just run my mixer, to my interface, to my computer.

I will be getting a compressor soon :)

we use a bellari dual channel preamp and an assortment of rode & homemade mics to record to a Tascam 38 1/2" reel to reel. We then bounce the tape tracks onto a mackie sdr2496 and mix through a mackie 32-8.

we just do demos so we don't use reverbs and compressors much. when we go to pro studios then we get to mess with all that cool shit.
