You are building a studio and need four high quality mic amps.
You want your studio to be versatile so you are looking for one or two clean and transparent pre's, and 2 or 3 with character and colour. They must all have a dinstinct tone.
You would use these for various musical styles to record voice, electric guitar, bass, electric pianos, acoustic instruments, percs, etc...
If you had to choose four pres from this list what would it be and why? And why wouldn't you choose a particular one?
-Great River ME-1NV
-Chandler Germanium
-TLAudio Ivory2 5051
-Avalon VT-737sp
-Avalon M5
-Universal Audio LA-610
-Grace Design model 101
-Summit 2BA-221
-Joemeek SIXQ
-A-Designs MP1
-Vintech X73i
-Focusrite Liquid Channel
-Presonus Eureka
-Rupert Neve 5012 or 5032
They can have or not a compressor / eq built in, but the most important factor is the preamp.
Thanks!
