What are tweeters?

in your typical speakers there are woofers and tweeters. the woofers are the big speakers that put out the bass frequencies. tweeters are the little speakers above the woofers that put out the high frequencies. there are also sub woofers and super tweeters, that go beyond the ranges of woofers and tweeters.

if using the NS10M professional studio monitors, the Tweeter is the smaller speaker that you tape toilet paper over.

(i'm not sure if it is the Little Mountain Sound Studios or Geffen Records...)
but there they are "in black and white"..nyuk,nyuk.....Nearfields NS10M's with the ETPHFF. (external toilet paper high frequency filter)
these pro's used one square of TP, taped over the tweeter using two pcs of WHITE tape..not sure if single ply or double, but i would bet single ply.
the White tape was used just to color coordinate, and make it look better.

this was first time i've actually noticed this! was watching the VHS movie this weekend.1989....

My wife's poodle is a tweeter, my sons mixed breed is a mid-range, the German Sheppard is a woofer. I guess the wife's pet birds are super tweeters.
