There is no secret. But a correct spelling is a good starting point. professional

Even if a band sucks, if they are cool with the audience and putting in an effort, I clap. Sometimes I'm the only one clapping.
I have to qualify that. I definitely wouldn't clap if it was THIS bad.

what I hate even worse is when people give shitty bands compliments, I for one do not give the, sometimes obligatory, "great show, sounded great, blah blah,...If a band sucks I just keep my mouth shut,
Yeah, that's fair. I'll try to not lie if I think a band sucks.

What's even worse than any of this is the guy in the band that gets off stage and comes up to you and asks "So what do you think?". I'm thinking "Don't put me on the pot like that because you might not like the answer". Come to think of it, maybe he wouldn't be asking me that if I wasn't the only one clapping.

That actually wasn't bad.
In their case, "bad" would actually have been quite positive !
That was beyond bad. That's what you play to prisoners every day of a 15 year sentence to put them off ever wanting to return to jail and ergo, a life of crime.

OMG , That was so terrible, it almost made it awesome, in a weird way!

Regardless of all the negatives, what the original question was is simple to answer. Try this link
Steve Vai "How to be Successful" Private Sessions Guitar Center - YouTube
If you ask me how to get to Carnegie Hall, the answer is still practice.:thumbs up:

But Steve makes an entirely great point. When you focus on what you can't (your weaknesses) playing becomes a chore. When you focus on what you love (your strengths) it becomes your JOY!

What I'm trying to say is, if you love writing and recording, but playing sucks...hire musicians.
If you love playing and writing and recording, but can't produce...hire a producer.
Do what you do best. Hone it, sharpen it. If you want to be on top, make it your #1 priority.
Make the time to practice. Don't let anything else get in the way of your practice.
Find out how to put it on Amazon.com for sale...there's some of these guys who have albums there.

Now, having said that. It is not more important than your God, your family, or your job.
Those three will support you until your dream does.
Go get em.
