Other than the 2 track simultaneous record limitation of HS2002.

Are the video layouts the same? Are the operational procedures the same?

???

I don't have a clue what you mean by video layouts...

As far as operation, Sonar has changed greatly with ver. 2 and HS2002 is still built around the Sonar 1.xx core.

Does HS look the same as Sonar V 1

Yes, like I said before the info is all on the Cakewalk website. Did you even look there first?

OK, I just finished a project using Sonar 2.1. 2.1 is a free download for all 2.0 users. I haven't used hs2002, but I'm looking at the screen shot and its very very similar. I see the same buttons, etc., pretty much the same layout -- so I expect that it will work the same....except....

Sonar does more. For example it has virtual main busses. This means you'll have more main busses showing up in the UI.

I also don't see in the screenshot the "fader" view of Sonar. You can do everything from the track view like I see in the HS screenshot, but Sonar also gives you the ability to see the board as multiple faders, like a mixing board. Its a big improvement.

HS2002 has virtual main busses as well.

It also has the console view, which has been around since the days of Pro Audio before Sonar.
