Ok here’s what I got:

1-AMD 1.2 GHZ TB,Abit KT7A MOBO with 512 megs-memory
2-Beringher MX802A 8 channel mixer
3-Delta Audiophile 24/96 Soundcard
4-Using the 5.10.00.29 DELTA SC drivers.(WMD)
5-Octava MK319 Mic
6-Using N-track mixing software ver 3.32.
7-Windows 2000,service pack 3

ok as some of you know I have been going nutz with this soundcard for a 1 ½ years.
(Ask Gidge).i’ve got the above setup dedicated to recording audio only—NOW!.
Last night I had a signal going thru my mixer---I could see it on the vu meters.

A--Ok, then I tried to record on the windows recorder, and I get a message saying open a new file to record. I did and tried again. then I get the same message. No recording!

B--Then I tried my Goldwave editor and I get “ file format wrong”

C--Then I try N-Track and I use the WMD drivers. The recording moniter meter does not move.
And when I engage the record button---nothing---nada.

Ok---here’s how I have this sucker plugged in:
1-I’m running the 2 “out’s” of the sound card into my Stereo Aux return on my Beringher
mixer.
2-I’m patching 2 outs from the 8th channel of my mixer out to my sound card “in”.
3- I have got the windows playback/record properties level up and on.
4-the 5.10.00.27 Drivers I had before the 5.10.00.29 drivers this did not work also.

NOWWWWWW! What am I doing wrong?. Any suggestions appreciated, thx JW

BTW, playback of cd’s and mp3’s is fine.

Here is where I am guessing you might have a problem. Aside from the other obvious possibilities, like where you have your software expecting a signal from (I assume you have everything pointing to your soundcard ins, right?).

2 outs from one channel? I am a little confused by this set-up. Are your signals being bussed to that output? Have you tried the stereo outs from the mixer?

thanks brad, well i moved the cables around and went from my contol out on my mixer to the in of the SC. then moved the out from the SC to the #8 channel on the mixer. success!! i recorded on windows recorder. then i tried N-Track and i am getting the computer crashing and re-booting itself when i change devices around. and i'm not mixing ASIO or WDM or the others, they are all the same drivers.hmmmmm, stay tuned.jw
