Lots of good examples here. In my experience, if you have a good acoustic, it's hard to record it and have it sound not good. Depending on the instrumentation and vocal acoustic can get in the way, but for the most part spend the money on the guitar before the mic!

I found the Rich Durrant YT rather 'spiky' and too much 'room'? But what do I know!

Attached is my lad in his flat in France recorded on a pair of Lewitt SDCs. I added the reverb here using Samplitude Pro X 6. I am listening via Tannoy 5As driven frm a MOTU M4 so, not too foul?

Steve Howe's acoustics always sound good on those middle-period Yes records, for instance the guitar intro on "Roundabout." Another good one is his work on "Turn of the Century" from Going For The One. Really awesome sounding stuff, with a ton of reverb.
I worked on Steve Howe’s guitars. On Roundabout he was using a 1930’s era O-18 which I restored for him in the early 2000’s.

Here is a great video of Tyler Ramsey performing with an early 1950’s Harmony H162 Baxendale Conversion.
