has anyone ever had any experience with these mics? Im considering buying these among others that I already know alot about (Sm57, ECM8000, Sm58). I'm not a really high budget person. Any and every opinion is welcome im just interested if these would be a good buy for me. I mainly would be using these for recording acoustic and electric guitar, and vocals and performing. Drums also every once in a while.

1. Nady CM-88 Condenser microphone
2. Nady SCM900 Diaphragm Condenser Mic
3. Shure SM48
4. Audio Technica DR-1000 Mic
5. Cobalt C07
6. Berhinger XM2000S Microphone

thanks
Will

Wow, bottom of the barrel, huh? We're talking underside. You said "not a high budget" but what exactly is your budget?

Im trying to keep all my mic purchases under $100 and preferably below $80

Rather than buying 6 cheap ones, why don't you buy a couple of better ones.

Ive used the sm48. Its exactly what youd expect from the name. Its a lower budget version of the 58. It still performed well though. Same rugged build as the 58 (I had them side by side), so itll probably last you a lifetime. The freuency response was a little less, but it was in those freuencies that you dont really notice. I would not have a problem singing into it at a gig, but I would probably just use (buy) a 58 for recording.

If you looking budget, go used and get some decent mics. I got my 58's ( I have 2) for $45/piece from www.musicgoround.com
I got some sm57's for $30, etc etc. Just keep looking for the deals and you will be able to find some decent mics for cheap.
Also check out www.harmonycentral.com 's used gear section. I got my Boss BR-8 from there for $400.

Marshall makes some great inexpensive mics. Definatly check them out.

Hope this helps.

I think that for under $100 I would lok at the MXL V63. It doesn't seem to get the same amount of praise the V67 does, but it gets it's share, and it is only $79+S&H. I picked up a V67G from Sam Ash for $105 shipped on a pricematch. Harvey Gerst has 2 of these in his studio.

I picked up an MXL V63 a couple of weeks ago at Mars for $79. The sales person and I (and a few other people who happened along) set up with a small mixer and acoustic guitar and tried out all of the store's cheap large condensers. I preffered the V63 over the V67 and all the other mics up to about $350. (didn't try anything over that price point) It is rich sounding, and a definite bargain. Also, the only other guy who made a purchase at our little mic demo session also chose the V63.

Or...

-Marshall MXL V67G= $129
-Behringer B1= $99

or save up for 1 or 2 better ones:
-Studio Projects C1 = $229 (incl. case, shockmount and plopscreen)
-Audio Technica AT-3035 = +/- $200

just some suggestions that are probably far better than those Nady mics you mentioned.
Try saving up. IF you want to record a drumkit, you could be off with this:
-1 SM57 for snare $79
-1 AT Pro 25 for kick $50
-2 Behringer ECM8000's for OH $70
-1 Audiobuddy 2 channel pre-amp $79

Total: $278. 4 decent budget mics, 1 very good bugdet pre and after hard practicing: invaluable knowlegde about mic placement and recording levels.
