the wharf's are good for us broke bastud's! what do the rich boys think?
First, I currently use BM6A's and I love them. The 8.2's are pretty nice for the price too. It comes down to whether you want the best monitors you can afford or if you want to get more pre's / A/D converters... IMHO, the 002 has 4 focusrites and thats about the best you get from a non standalone pre. You should wait on more pres (unless you need more than 4 for tracking..) and get a high quality set of monitors. If you need the extra power(100w/speaker) do the 6a's but if you want to save a little cash and still get great sound go for the 5a's or Adam a7's(both 50w/speaker). That depends on the size of your room.acousitc_kid said:I'm lacking in the preamp department, I currently use FMR, I have the 002 which converters I do not like and would like to pick up a decent 2 channel A/D for. I'm fine in the mic department.
I see many people considering the Dyn passives and I'm sure they are great but the real question would be are they THAT much greater then the Wharfs? I like what I've read on the Wharfs translating to outside systems nicely. I've recently worked wit the Yorkville and was not overly impressed with them, to me they sounded like a beefed up powered NS-10.
